Installation Process

The EV Charger Installation Process

01

Panel Assessment

We evaluate your electrical panel, available capacity, and breaker placement. No surprises, no overloads.

02

Load Calculation

We calculate the power needed and confirm your home can support 240V, 40-50A service safely.

03

Permit & Coordination

We pull permits with the municipality and coordinate inspection timing so nothing slows you down.

04

Installation & Testing

We run new circuits, mount the charger, test everything, and ensure your vehicle charges safely.

Smart Home Integration

Your EV charger can integrate with Savant Power monitoring, so you see charger status and energy consumption on your Control4 dashboard. Smart scheduling means you can set the charger to activate during off-peak hours, saving money on time-of-use electricity rates.

Since we also build your smart home, we can coordinate EV charging with your energy management system for maximum efficiency.

Why Wadden for EV?

Most homeowners don't realize their panel is at capacity until the EV charger trips it. We start with a CEC Section 8 load calculation — not a guess — and tell you upfront whether you need a panel upgrade or whether a smart load manager can avoid one entirely.

Once the panel's right, we pull the permit, run the conduit, mount the charger, commission it, and walk you through the app. Most installs wrap in a single visit — and every job is signed off by a licensed journeyman.
