Load & Fixture Audit
Every light fixture is checked for dimmer compatibility. We specify the correct Lutron dimmer for every load — LED, incandescent, low-voltage — ensuring flicker-free, smooth dimming from 100% down to 0.1%.

Rough-In
Low-voltage cabling routed to all keypad locations. Neutral wires confirmed at every switch box. Conduit installed for future expansion. All done during construction before drywall closes.

Programming

What is the difference between Lutron HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3?
HomeWorks QSX is Lutron's flagship system for large luxury homes — it supports thousands of devices, native Ketra integration, and the full Palladiom keypad line. RadioRA 3 is our standard recommendation for most homes: wireless Clear Connect Type X protocol, excellent reliability, and a lower entry point. Can Lutron lighting be added to an existing home, or does it require new construction?
Both. RadioRA 3 is a wireless system that retrofits into existing homes without rewiring — standard switches and dimmers are replaced in place. For new construction, we add neutral wires and low-voltage cabling during rough-in. Most retrofit installs complete in 1–2 days. Request a consultation →
Do Lutron dimmers work with LED bulbs?
Yes — but not all LED bulbs are compatible with every Lutron dimmer. Lutron maintains an extensive compatibility database of tested fixtures and bulbs. We specify Lutron-compatible fixtures and dimming drivers as part of our fixture audit, so your system dims smoothly and flicker-free across every circuit.
What are lighting scenes and how do they work?
A lighting scene is a saved combination of dim levels across multiple circuits, activated with one keypad button, voice command, or automatically. 'Movie Night' might dim the living room to 15% and turn off everything else. With Control4 integration, scenes can trigger automatically based on time of day, occupancy sensors, or other events in your home.
How are Lutron keypads customized to match my interior design?
Lutron offers multiple keypad families — Alisse, Palladiom, and seeTouch — in a range of metal and painted finishes. Button engravings are custom-specified (Kitchen, Reading, All Off, etc.), and LED indicator colors are programmable per button. We coordinate with your interior designer to ensure every keypad complements the room rather than interrupting it.
